THE GHEEZ RITE CHAPLAINCY
St Francis of Assisi

As every body may remember, in a meeting of the Gheez Rite community, the so awaited election was carried out on 4 May 2003 in the parish hall of St Francis. As a result twelve people have been elected to serve for a year as pastoral committee.

The following are the names of the new pastoral committee:

1. Woldeselassie Abreha is to represent liturgy and worship.

2. Sara Menghis is to look after children and the catechetical programme.

3. Hamid Fadega is to represent prayer groups.

4. Abrehet Asfeha is to represent the AYWL diocesan programme.

5. Habteab Kifleyesus is to represent Selem WeSenay and its activities.

6. Semere Asefaw is to look after hospitality as welcoming and contacting body.

7. Tesfay Tekie is to support the planned giving and offerings scheme.

The following are the five people without a specific task at the moment, but elected to fill the ideal number of 12 that was suggested by Bishop Allan Hopes: Aaron Ghebre,   Fturu Hidug,   Tsegazeab Yohannes,   Isaac Yacob   and  Mamet Ghebrab.

As suggested by Bishop Allan Hopes a date is fixed for the new committee to meet on Sunday 29 June 2003 at 4 p.m. The agenda will be the formation of sub-committees of about 5-7 people each to work in the above 7 pastoral needs.
