The "Good News"
Dear
brothers and sisters,
Now is the season in our church calendar, when almost all of the Bible
readings speak about the "Good News" of Jesus' resurrection
from the dead. Yes! it really is a wonderful news for all of us who have
walked with Jesus through Good Friday. He was crucified, dead and at the
end buried. Even though Jesus' resurrection was a very wonderful "Good
News" in its own right, more than that, it was "Good News"
because it affects the whole essence of our Christian walk of life.
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised
to life for our justification" (Romans
4:25)
As it is clearly stated in this part of the bible, Christ's death and
resurrection was specifically for us. There was no need for Him to die
after all. Even the disciples of Jesus did not understand His death and
resurrection. It was so hard for them to understand it with their bare
minds. They only understood the mystery of His death and resurrection
only after the comforter, the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit came upon them.
"I
have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he,
the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will
not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell
you what is yet to come." (John 16:13-14)
Let
me invite you to come back to ourselves. Do we really understand what
Jesus has done for us? Do you really understand that Jesus died for your
sins and was raised from the dead for your justification. If your answer
is big YES, if you really accept this truth deep down
with your heart, then I assure you that you have taken the "Good
News" with you, to your own home. You are really blessed!
