The "Good News"

But, let me ask you one question again. Are you living a life of "Good News"? There is a very big difference between the person who have got the "Good News" and the one who does not. A clear example is the disciples in the bible. Peter before the day of Pentecost and the Peter of after Pentecost. Take your bible and have a look at the story for yourself.

To come back to ourselves, the Christians of this age, are we living the life of the disciples after Pentecost, the life the "Good News" or are we living the life of the disciples before Pentecost? There is no mid way between the two lives.

When I see myself against the "Good News", I found myself as a failure. If I compare myself with those disciples after Pentecost, I am far apart from them. When they had the "Good News", they could not help but sharing it with every body around them. They were full of courage to share the "Good News". As we all know, all of them were using every opportunity to share the "Good News" in every possible circumstances. Whether it be in the synagogues, jail, houses, ... every where.

The good news, even now, is that Jesus still did not look at our past failures. He does not look at who we are. He want to give us a new start. He want to encourage us.
"... Don't be afraid; just believe." (Mark 5:36)

He wants to give us His message of comfort today as He gave it to His disciples.
"... Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" (John 20:19)

There is hope for us. It is not too late for us to come and receive the "Good News" today. May the Holy Spirit, who enlightened the mind and heart of the disciples and filled them with the "Good News", fill our hearts. Amen!

your brother,
eyasu
